Tips to Make Dog Walking Fun

First, ditch any retractable leash. These are proven dangerous for you and your dog. Choose a comfortable leash no longer than 6 feet. Know your dogs limit for walking distances. Allow your dog to sniff. This is their way to sense the world through their nose. Engage with your dog by asking them to sit occasionally, go in the down position, take treats and toys. Don't rush the walk, let them explore all the sights and sounds around them.

Introducing a New Baby to Your Pet

It's best to introduce your dog to the nursery that awaits your human baby. Allow your dog to see and sniff all the sights and sounds of a newborns nursery. When your baby arrives home from the hospital make every effort to schedule some time with your pet. After all they are family too. Include your pet when your are holding your baby, let the dog see you and the baby. By doing this you will help the adjustment to the dog and reduce any anxiety or jealousy towards the newborn baby.
